The Offshore Business Stream of the Penspen Group, Andrew Palmer & Associates, has been awarded the Subsea Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contract for the Marathon East Brae Devenick Project.
Marathon Oil (UK) Limited is currently developing the East Brae facility to allow the tie-back of the BP Devenick Development. Water depth at the facility is 116m.
The Devenick field is a moderately sized reservoir lying 13km southeast of the Harding platform and approximately 35km north of East Brae, straddling Blocks 9/24b and 9/29a. It contains gas and condensate at moderately high pressure and temperature.
The field straddles two main field development blocks, one of which is owned 100% by BP and the other of which is 81% BP and 19% RWE. BP and RWE together make up the ‘Devenick owners’. The field has not yet been unitised.
The Devenick project has set a target to achieve first oil in Q1/Q2 2012.
The base-case Scope of Work shall include the FEED study for two caisson risers and all associated process pipe-work.
