The expansion of Abu Dhabi International Airport is to be carried out in 3 phases to handle 60 million passengers per year by the year 2045 and includes 3 passenger terminals and a cargo apron in a new midfield development between the existing and new runways.
Penspen’s scope of work included a hydraulic study (including assessment of future fuel requirements), future tankage, fire protection and fuel hydrant pumping requirements, a detailed proposal for the first phase (1A) expansion (2010), mechanical/piping and electrical basic design, condition survey of the existing facilities and cost estimate.Leak detection systems were also proposed for both existing and new fuel hydrant systems.
