PENSPEN LIMITED WIN OWNER’S ENGINEER CONTRACT FOR NABUCCO GAS PIPELINE
Nabucco Gas Pipeline International GmbH whose shareholders are Botas, Bulgargaz-Holding, Transgaz, MOL and OMV has awarded a contract to Penspen Limited, the international oil and gas consultancy based in the UK, to undertake the role of Owner's Engineers to assist in the setting up and then to manage the local FEED contractors in Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey.
Penspen's scope of services includes the overall management of the local FEED contractors, the review of the technical feasibility study, route confirmation, preparation of the design basis, hydraulic studies, overall SCADA and telecommunications, GIS and preparation of tender packages for the next phase.
The planned Nabucco natural gas pipeline constitutes a dedicated gas transit and transportation pipeline from Turkey to Austria via Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary. The aim is to create a pipeline system for natural gas transmission from different sources in the Caspian Sea Region and the Middle East to Central Europe.

More recently this has expanded into structured maintenance arrangements for medium and low pressure facilities. PENSPEN TO UPDATE THE TUKMENISTAN-AFGHANISTAN- PAKISTAN (TAP) GAS PIPELINE FEASIBILITY STUDY
Penspen, the British based engineering consultancy, has been appointed to undertake the update of the Techno-Economic Feasibility Study for the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan- Pakistan (TAP) Gas Pipeline Project.
Penspen conducted the original feasibility study in the period 2003-4 which included the routing and basic design of the proposed 56” 1740km pipeline, cost estimation, financial, social and environmental impact studies.
The updated results will be discussed at the upcoming 10th Steering Committee and Technical Working Group meeting to be held in late April. The Asian Development Bank is financing the update.
PENSPEN WINS DETAILED ENGINEERING CONTRACT FOR ADCOP PROJECT
China Petroleum Engineering and Construction Corporation (CPECC) has awarded Penspen the contract for carrying out the Detailed Engineering for the Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline (ADCOP) Project. CPECC has been appointed by International Petroleum Investment Company, the government owned Project Sponsor, as the EPC Contractor for the Project.
The ADCOP project will transport up to 1.5MMBPD of crude oil from the main producing areas in Abu Dhabi to Fujairah on the East coast of the UAE. The Project facilities include: 370km long, 48" diameter oil export Pipeline, Main Pumping Station, Intermediate Pump Station, Main Oil Terminal and three Single Point Mooring buoys for deepwater tanker loading at Fujairah on the Indian Ocean coast.
