Rehabilitation & Integrity Reinstatement of Flowlines – Bab & Asab Fields
Project Background
ADNOC Onshore initiated a major rehabilitation program to restore asset integrity, improve reliability and sustain production from two of Abu Dhabi’s largest producing onshore assets – Bab and Asab.
Both fields had experienced flowline dislocations, buckling and integrity deterioration caused by long-term operational and geotechnical factors.
Services
Penspen was awarded a project by Galfar Engineering & Contracting, a leading Regional EPC Contractor, to support the rehabilitation programme. Our specialist teams delivered detailed engineering for replacement and modification of flowlines and trunklines, as well as integrity-driven redesign and rerouting.
With a history of successful project execution across technically complex oilfield developments in the region, Penspen’s East Region team also provided engineering support for approximately 462 km of replacement pipelines, before supporting Brownfield integration and constructability reviews.
Result
The project safeguards production from key ADNOC Onshore assets, aligned with the operator’s strategy to target crude oil production capacity of five million barrels of oil per day by 2027, and forms part of ADNOC’s ongoing field modernisation programme.
