The two-day course offers hands-on experience in the isolation, maintenance, and operation of gas transmission systems.   • Recognise and apply safe working practices in hazardous areas.
  • Safely isolate, vent and purge sections of gas pipeline and plant in accordance with industry standards and best practice.

  • Relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Industry standards, codes of practice and recognised best-practice guidance

Safety in Hazardous Areas:

  • Hazardous-area classification and zoning
  • Selection and use of appropriate equipment
  • Site-entry procedures
  • Emergency and evacuation procedures
  • Gas sampling procedures

System Design:

  • Fundamental system-design principles

Isolation, Venting and Purging:

  • Safe plant and pipeline isolation
  • Selection and installation of appropriate equipment
  • Venting and purging procedures
  • Practical application of displacement and dilution purging techniques
