Overview
Penspen’s UK Offshore Pipeline Legislation Awareness course describes the government departments and non-government agencies involved, the procedures to be followed, the duties that must be complied with and the authorisations that must be obtained.
The course addresses all the relevant planning, major accident hazard, environmental protection and decommissioning legislation for offshore pipelines, as well as the operational and the decommissioning phases of onshore pipelines. Aimed at: – Ideally suited for those that operate trunk pipelines to the beach.
Objective
The aim of this course is to provide an understanding of the relevant UK legislation to those whose work involves the planning, design, construction, commissioning and decommissioning of offshore oil and gas pipelines.

Course Trainer
Duraid Alkazraji, Senior Consultant at Penspen
Duraid is a Chartered Engineer and member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and Industrial Affiliate with the Institution of Gas Engineers. Having worked as a pipeline engineer for 23 years, 7 of which as a pipeline inspector with the HSE involved in pipeline inspections, major investigations, enforcement and prosecutions.
In addition, Duraid has managed and completed a large number of projects as a consultant with Advantica and GL (now GL-DNV) for several major pipeline operators and gas networks, and has for over 10 years been working with and advising on pipeline integrity management and fitness for service. Duraid was also the Pipeline Technical Authority on the significant pan-European pipeline project, the Trans Adriatic Pipeline.

-Previously worked as a HSE Pipeline Inspector (7 Years) responsible for regulating the onshore and offshore pipeline industry in the UK.
-Lead Investigator on a number of Major Incident Investigations, Enforcements and Prosecutions.
-Involvement in prosecutions of several major pipeline operators.
-Technical Authority for the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (Major European Pipeline Project)
