  • Risk Assessment Study
  • Fitness-For-Service Study
  • Integrity Engineering
  • Corrosion Rate Study

Challenge

The client faced integrity risks across their pipeline and pressure system assets located at various offshore facilities, which were exceeding their operational life. These assets provide oil to the client’s onshore facilities, helping its relative community access resources. Penspen was contracted to assess the current and future health of these critical assets and to provide risk services to maintain system integrity and reduce its operational risks.

Scope of Work

Penspen delivered multiple asset integrity management services:

  • Remaining Life assessment based on the original design code requirement and corrosion rates
  • Fitness-for-Service engineering assessments based on the various damage mechanisms
  • Fitness-for-Service assessments performed at increased levels of complexity, starting with Level 1 through to Level 3
  • Condition Risk-Based assessments based on the relevant industry standards and client documents

Result

Penspen provided the technical expertise required to perform the relevant asset integrity studies. The life extension studies of the pipeline systems were conducted based on engineering assessments, resulting in improved safety, integrity and reliability of the relevant pipeline and pressure systems.
