Overview

Presented by Mike Brown, Lead Pipeline Asset Integrity Consultant at Penspen, this course will guide participants through from the foundations of pipeline defect assessment and engineering principles to industry accepted methods and best practices.

This course will present the theory and application for the assessment of defects such as corrosion, gouges, dents, cracks and weld defects, including repairs.

In addition, this course will provide an introduction to hydrogen as associated with pipeline defects.

Objectives

-To present methods available to assess the significance of defects detected in onshore and offshore pipelines.

-To introduce fracture mechanics and fatigue and introduces fundamental analytical methods used to assess pipeline defects.

-To provide practical training on case studies in the use of the associated assessment spreadsheets
