Asset Management Services for Indigo Networks
Extending our relationship with Indigo Networks with a new contract for the provision of PRI maintenance, overhaul and emergency response services
Project Background
Indigo Networks is one of the largest independent network operators in the UK, servicing over 203,000 domestic and commercial premises across the country
Since 2020, Penspen has been engaged by Indigo to support the maintenance of its network of infrastructure and connections, ensuring safe and secure operations. In 2025, Indigo sought to re-issue its contract for maintenance of pressure reduction installations (PRI).
Services
The scope of Penspen’s work covers the maintenance and overhaul of pressure reduction installations (PRIs). PRIs in gas pipelines are essential for ensuring safe and efficient gas distribution, reducing the pressure of gas to a level suitable for use by end users. Indigo Network operates a number of PRIs ranging from Intermediate Pressure/Medium Pressure, Intermediate Pressure/Low Pressure, to Medium Pressure/Low Pressure, with assets across England, Scotland and Wales.
Regular maintenance and operation of pressure reduction installations is crucial for their longevity and efficiency. This includes safety checks, corrosion monitoring, and uprating and downrating of the system to accommodate changes in gas composition or demand.
Penspen’s mobile asset model, where multi-skilled technicians are available throughout the UK for rapid deployment for oil and gas asset management, is utilised for this contract, with our qualified technicians available 24/7 for emergency response services for Indigo Networks.
Result
The contract award builds on a long-standing and valued relationship with Indigo Networks. Through this partnership, Penspen has developed a deep understanding of Indigo’s operations, acting as an extension of its team in regards to the ongoing maintenance of PRI assets and building a successful track record that focuses on safe and efficient outcomes for both parties.
Rachael Williamson, Account Manager at Penspen, commented: “We are delighted to continue our trusted partnership with Indigo Networks through this new three-year contract. We deeply value the strong relationship we’ve built and look forward to entering this next phase of collaboration. Our team remains fully committed to delivering results that consistently meet and exceed the high standards Indigo expects.”
Bob Smith, Head of Gas Networks at Indigo Networks, said: “We at Indigo are very pleased to offer Penspen a continued contract. We have been delighted with the support and responsiveness of their operational team, who consistently delivered an excellent service in line with our business needs. The Penspen team has become an integral extension of our own operations, demonstrating exceptional commitment, and we look forward to continuing our work together over the next three years.”
