Project Management Services for LNG and CNG for a Gas Transmission System Operator

Project Background

Penspen was employed by a European national gas transmission system operator to provide project management services for development of its LNG (including the power integration station) and CNG facilities. The services covered management of three separate projects partially funded under the European Union Community Support Framework III.

LNG expansion project:

• Previous capacity 250m3/h of LNG, to be expanded to 1,000m3/h (SMSR)
• One additional unloading arm, ship capacity increased from 25,000m3 to 75,000m3
• Additional loading line HP and LP pumps, compressor and vaporisers with all piping, electrical, civil etc.

Power integration station:

• Combined heat & power station to cover the expanded LNG Terminal’s electrical loads
• Two gas engine generator sets, caterpillar/ABB
• Exhaust-gas-heat and cooling water heat utilisation for producing hot water for SCVs]

CNG project:

• Compression, storage, filtering, metering and loading/dispensing facilities
• Includes all civil, piping, electrical etc.
