West Burton Gas Pipeline

Challenge

Penspen was commissioned to carry out the Front End Engineering Design for the 24” diameter high pressure gas pipeline from Gainsborough in Lincolnshire to West Burton Power Station in Nottinghamshire in 2007/8. We were then commissioned to oversee pipeline construction and pre-commissioning in 2009, and commissioning in 2011.

Solution

Penspen achieved all client objectives, using a Pipeline Contractor (PPS) that recorded no Lost Time Injuries and an excellent safety record.

Result

EDF Energy received a safe and efficient fully functioning pipeline on time and on budget.
