Europe’s Energy Shift – Offering Benefits for African Energy Producers

With 492 oil and gas projects expected to commence operations between 2023 and 2027, to say that producers in Africa are in for a decidedly busy time would be something of an understatement. Of course, the trigger for this phenomenal surge in activity is primarily down to the European Commission’s plans to end Europe’s dependence on Russian fossil fuels following the Kremlin-sanctioned invasion of Ukraine. Positive sentiment in the energy market towards Africa succeeding is at an all-time high, but there are several key considerations that will need to be taken into account if the benefits to producers are to be realised.

In this month’s issue of Dar Magazine, Arun Behl (Head of Sales & Marketing, MEA), and John Downer (Senior Project Manager) provide insight on the current energy landscape in Africa and Europe, and the key considerations for African producers when delivering oil and gas resources to the European market.
